Much news! Huldrekall - River - Cloudling

Soooo it appears that i havn't posted in quite some time. Things have been busy around here this last year and I guess I've neglected my internet presence even more then usual.... oh well!

So the Huldrekall/Spektral Hatchery split came out. 1 track each from both bands of some seriously high quality material. I personally believe that the Huldrekall track is our strongest song to date, but give it a listen on bandcamp and you be the judge. Tapes are available through the bandcamp page or through oldschool email, just hit me up and let me know what you'd like and where you're at and ill send you a total including shipping.

In more recent news, Huldrekall played the Cascadian Yule festival last month. The fest went over very well and was a great experience per usual. We have 2 shows coming up soon, the first will be on 2/4 at the Oldschool Pizzeria with Cyberplasm and Carrion Bloom (ill post a flyer when one appears)


The 2nd will be the following night at Cryptatropa with Striations, Human Agony and Meth Goat. Both shows should be brutal as fuck, come out if you can!

In other news, I am pleased to announce that i will be soon entering into the studio to record a full length with my new project titled Cloudling. The album will be 6 tracks of ethereal synths and majestic acoustics, similer in some ways to my work with River but considerably more ambient. I will post more info soon.

I suppose while on the topic of River, after 6 years of silence, we have finally finished recording our new album. We are now in the mixing process and i will post a prerelease track once its available.

Nidstang and Huldrekall News

John over at occultblackmetalzine blog just recently posted a Nidstang review and interview.you can check out the review HERE and the interview HERE.

In other news, Production has started on a split tape between Huldrekall and Spektral Hatchery. The recordings are both about a year old and feature that last recording made by Spektral Hatchery before they disbanded. Hopefully should have the tapes by the beginning of August.

Nidstang, Mourning Cloak and Thirst For Light oh my

After seemingly forever the new Nidstang album is finally complete! You can check it out HERE. This album has a much heavier sound to it due to it being recorded in a more legit studio and not just by me in my bedroom. Musically and lyrically it may be even a bit more extreme, it was written and recorded in the heart of winter when i was going through a particularly bad bout of depression and i think it comes through. The last track is also a strange reinterpretation of a classic Ildjarn track from the mid 90's. Tape comes on pro-dubbed and inlayed silver cassettes with shimmery cardstock Jcard and is limited to 100 copies. Contact me at einsamkristall@gmail.com to attain copies.

Nidstang will be playing one of very few shows as a live incarnation on Thursday July 5th at Cryptatropa with one of my favorite bands, ICESWORD! fucking love those guys. will be a great show and a very rre opportunity to see Nidstang in a live setting.

Secondly Ive been playing 2nd drums in With the End in Mind, an atmospheric BM band also from Olympia and we will be playing shows on monday the 25th at Thirst For Light and the following night, Tuesday the 26th at the Crypt here in Oly. 

I will be at TFL for most of the weekend and will have all of my currently available releases with me as well as my cassette and possibly vinyl distros. If you're there you should at least come say hi!

Lastly I would like to announce a new dark ambient solo project I've started titled Mourning Cloak. I've been working on some new material and should be recording an album sometime this summer. For now, I will be performing a collaborative set with Hariwa Heron (Micheal from Alda/River/Ekstasis..etc) at Dog Farm on Friday June 29th along with locals Serak and amazing touring band a Whisper Wakes the Wolves. HuldrekAlda + New Nidstang

well hot damn, its been a minute! This winter has been fucking rough but acording to the calendar its over!

Its pretty late in announcing but Tomorrow will see the triumphant return of Huldrekall! We will be playing 3/24/18 at the Crypt in Oly with Vouna, Forest of Grey and our dear friends Alda. Show starts right at 9 and were playing first. I found this photo of all of us in Chico from our tour together a few years back and liked it so much i figured id post it. Much thanks to Sesar for taking pictures at our show and for being a rad dude in general.

In other news, I have recently completed the mixing for a new Nidstang full length! Im hoping to have the cassettes by the begining of may and will post some tracks on bandcamp and more info soon. 

New Zelosis Tape Now Available

So it's been a hectic Summer so far! After a bit of time off from doing label stuff I present today the new full length by Zelosis, Whitethorn CA's premier crust/prog/black metal band. I really don't even know how to best describe these guy's music so check it out HERE. It's totally awesome, Sometimes its got an older Neurosis feeling, sometimes it's a little more like mid 90's Enslaved, other times it just does whatever the hell it wants. All in all a very original and refreshing release. Zelosis also features Webi of Waul of the Weald and Sangre de Muerdago renown and if you were interested in WOTW but also enjoy metal I would highly recommend checking out this new release. They will be on tour all the way across the US starting at the end of August so check their Facebook page to see if they're playing near you!

In other news I've been playing drums with a new band in Olympia called Hoarder. The music style is very much focused towards hardcore with a lot of late-80's youth crew and early 00's fastcore type influence. We just finished recording a new 10 song cassette that will be self-released in early september and will be playing a handful of shows down the coast next month as well. The dates so far are planned as:

9/13 - Seattle, WA
9/14 - Salem/Eugene, OR
9/15 - Oakland, CA
9/16 - San Francisco, CA
9/17 - Portland, OR

MORE Huldrekall and Nidstang news

Ive set up tape pre-orders for the Nidstang tape as well as the new Huldrekall album "What Else Will Fade?" through the Einsamkeit Bandcamp page . The tapes for both albums will start shipping on 3/22/17, you can order through bandcamp or per usual by sending me an email with what you would like and where you are located! I will post pictures and more info once the tapes get here.

Nidstang and Huldrekall News

After a while with little updates im glad to announce some upcoming releases! First off, I started a solo project a few months back and broke in a new 4 track by recording an album. The band is called Nidstang and my first release is titled "Retribution Will Come".  I personally view the musical sound and approach as a solid mix of Ildjarn, Hellhammer and Rudimentary Peni. I'll be sending the files off to be pressed to pro-tape within the week, so hopefully the tapes will be available within a month. For now you can check out the recordings at nidstang.bandcamp.com

Second. Im very glad to announce that tape version of Huldrekall's yet unreleased full length "What Else Will Fade?" is in production and will be available soon. There have been many delays cause by a lot of factors but weve decided to release the tape version first while we continue to sort out the details of the LP and CD versions. More news will be posted as soon as solid confirmations are available.

Third, Huldrekall has comepleted recording and mixing of a new track that will be featured on an upcoming split 7" with fellow Olympians Spektral Hatchery. More news will come as its figured out but hopefully production will begin soon!

So I've put together a new label page on bandcamp for Einsamkeit. Slowly I'll be adding most bands and releases that ive worked with and in turn tapes and what not will be easier to order. Waul of the Weald and Deprogram tapes are here!

Ive got today two very different new tapes to add to the roster.

First up is a new full length by Waul of the Weald. WOTW is a solo project by Webby who plays with Sangre de Muerdago and is a beautiful offering of forest folk from the woods of northern California.  Very epic and calming tunes played on 12 string guitar amongst other strings with lower male vocals. Recommended for fans of Tenhi, Sangre de Muerdago, October Falls and River.

Second up is a new demo from Olympia based D-Beat/Punk band Deprogram. This their first demo/release and is incredibly ripping and politically charged D-Beat in the style of genre classics like Discharge, Anti-Cimex and Doom.

Huldrekall Recording, Mercury/Cavernous Womb + General News Update

It brings me much pleasure to announce that the Huldrekall west coast tour went over fantastically and that recording for our upcoming full length is complete! We now begin the mixing and mastering stage but the most difficult aspects are done and over with. We will also be performing in Seattle next month on monday the 18th at Black Lodge with the mighty Barghest! I'll post the flyer once its available.

Im also pleased to announce the arrival of E-016 "Mercury / Cavernous Womb" split. 100 copies on pro-dubbed and inlayed cassettes with hand made and numbered J-cards.  Mercury's side is split into a two part epic of dark droning synth and heavy psychedelic acoustic guitar. The Cavernous Womb side is one long hypnotic piece comprised of dueling synths and percussion. Both side would be well suited for your next trip into the astral plane.  To commemorate the arrival of the new tape we will be hosting a show for both projects within the next few weeks here in Olympia. More details will be posted as things solidify.

Cavernous Update

So with much thanks to good friend Yasuhiro, the tracks from the 2 Cavernous Womb releases are now available in digital format. I created a bandcamp page and now the tracks are available for streaming and free download HERE . In addition, the set that was performed the other night at the Crypt was recorded live and will probobly be popping up sometime in the near future.

I would also like to announce that a previously unreleased Cavernous Womb track from 2013 entitled "Enveloped in Glistening Rays of Sunshine" will finally see the light of day on an upcoming Cavernous Womb /// Mercury split tape. More details will come as plans get further solidified.

Huldrekall, Hiding and Cavernous Womb 4/3

Sunday April 3rd will bring Eugene's own black metal titans, Hiding, to the Crypt here in Olympia. Joining them will be Huldrekall (playing some new material) and a somewhat rare appearance by Cavernous Womb. Bands start at 9:45 and I believe Cavernous Womb is opening.

Sludge and Ambient show 3/25!

On Friday March 25th heavy sludger's, Dispossessed, from Portland will be playing at Cryptatropa here in Oly. Performing with them will be a new project I've been playing with, currently under the working title Moondawn. It features Lily from Squilll on guitar/sounds and myself on synths/samples. Expect very laid back and psychedelic ambient/drone. You can hear a demo recording of our most recent practice HERE . Show should start around 9:30ish and bring cash for the out of town band!

Coming up soon on saturday the 19th BlackMold is playing our first show in a couple years! It will also be our first show with Alex from Huldrekall joining us on bass and it should be awesome. Huldrekall, Morose, Druden and Rohit SAT 1/30/16

For the first time in almost 5 years Huldrekall is playing a show in Seattle that isent at FBK! Saturday the 30th were playing at the Black Lodge in Seattle. Its gonna be an incredibly solid line up as well, joining us will be:

Morose- Seattle awesome melodic sludge/doom

Rohit - Portland super aggressive and noisey black metal/sludge ala Bone Awl, but better

Druden - Portland rad melodic mid-tempo black metal with doom influence (ex member of Threnos!)

The show starts at 9 and I'm not sure what the order is so show up on time!

Huldrekall, Icesword and Ox 1/5/16

Huldrekall is playing a show coming up on Tuesday January 5th at the Crypt in Olympia. Were playing with two extremely glorious blackened fantasy metal bands, Ox, from Olympia and Icesword, from Flagstaff, Arizona. The show should be a lot of fun and the line-up is utterly beastly.  I think we might be playing first and seeing as its a Tuesday, we'll try and get the bands started at 9 sharp. We'll be playing a new track from our upcoming full length, so per usual, show up on time or face endless disappointment!
